Lykins Mission – September 4th, 2007
Dear Friends and family,
It’s difficult to realize the ending of our Children of Destiny school. We have been going at it for the past 12 weeks, and amazingly….we survived! God is good.
A few updates back I requested prayer for “Kenny”. He is the one boy who has the most difficulty making friends. Thank you for your prayers for him. He was caught in a lie, and stealing some candy last week. When confronted he confessed and asked for forgiveness from the offended party. Also, when our class was praying we had a time of asking God if we had any offenses against our classmates, and three of the children (ages 8-11) admitted to being mean to “Kenny”, and asked him for forgivenss. Brick by brick God is tearing down the wall of rejection. (I’ve noticed that he does better when he gets lots of hugs.) He’ll be going to the Philippines with us, so we’ll make sure he gets his daily dose! Thank you in advance for your continued prayers!
Today we leave for the Philippines. We covet your prayers for the duration of our 8 week outreach. We know that apart from the Spirit of God, we have no capacity to tranform lives. We know too that the powers of darkness lose their grip when God’s people pray!
