Dear Friends and family,

Last night we were priveleged to listen to David Cunningham (YWAM founders Loren and Darlene’s son,) speak and share a documentary on infanticide in Brazil. Like slavery in the 19th century, the indigenous people of Brazil are considered less than human. Therefore, they can be marginalized, exploited and killed.

David has made a documentary exposing the plight of the indigenous people. You can view an exerpt on the above “you tube” link. Also, visit www.hakani.org to see additional information and ways you can get involved to support the children of Brazil. We only have a few days left to arouse attention as the assembly in Brazil will vote on June 30th whether to allow full human status to their tribal people.

If, after viewing the video, you would like to email the ambassador to Brazil their email is olsaac@state.gov please be polite, encouraging them to do all they can to help these people. Also, the Brazilian Embassy in the U.S. is humanrights@brasilemb.org

We finished the first week of the new Crossroads Discipleship Training School. (CDTS) We have 11 students. three couples and 5 singles, (4 women and one man) The students are from Canada, Michigan, Indiana, Idaho, Oregon, and New Zealand. I, Fred, am staffing the school, leading worship, and teaching on Intercession. Carol is helping with hospitality, small groups, and serving as a nanny to our only CDTS child, Dakota, age 2. Quite a change from last year’s 11 CDTS children, who were part of our Children of Destiny school which totaled 30 children from 5 nations.

Our winter DTS (Discipleship Training School) returned from India in late May. They shared many stories from their time. Among their travels, they visited the birth place of Hinduism. One of the more excitiing stories involved women who were rescued from demonic spirits. Also, two of the young men in the school were wayward sons of YWAM leaders. They both served well on the team, and have made a turn around in their lives.

The classroom remodel that I was working on has been completed enough for the school to occupy the space. It was a much larger task than we initially thought. We gutted five offices to the stud walls, removed the plaster ceiling including the copper tubing which was used for heating. We reinforced a sagging roof, tore out moldy sheetrock, put in two beams to support the roofline. We installed new duct work for a forced air furnace, tore out miles of old intercom wiring, installed new lights, plugs, sky lights, sheetrock, texture, paint and carpet, We insulated the walls, ceiling and floor. Finally, we also put in a video screen that connects to the speakers computer. It all turned out pretty well! Jesse, the base director was a great help in the project. He told us when we finished that he reminded himself often that it wasn’t just a lot of hard work, but a “labor of love to help train the next generation of missionaries!” Well spoken.

We cherish your prayers and support. This is a busy season, and we need extra prayer! Also, our school director has asked us to lead the outreach this year. This will be a first for us. We don’t know yet where the outreach is going, or the cost, but will let you all know when we know.

Please drop us an email, and let us know of your doings!

Blessings to you,
Fred and Carol
