Lykins Update – July 22, 2008

Dear Friends and family,

Last month I wrote of David Cunningham’s project to rescue the tribal children of the Amazon Basin who were subjected to infanticide. Praise God! The Brazilian government has passed a law to protect these children, AND the YWAMers who were harboring them. Thank you for your prayers and letters!

This week we here at YWAM Salem have been privileged to hear the author of the bestselling book “The Shack”, William P Young. What an incredible testimony! He is not an author by trade. He wrote the story for his children. If you’ve not read the book, it is an allegory about the soul. Jesus said a tree will be known by its fruit. This man’s story is bearing lots of fruit! It has sold over 2 million copies! He gets up to 200 emails a day from people sharing how God has healed their broken hearts, homes, families, relationships. If you’ve not read it, please consider doing so, and then share it with your loved ones.

Here is another praise! We have been praying about taking this team of students to Myanmar and Thailand. So far this base has sent several teams to Thailand, but only a few individuals have been able to go into Myanmar, and only for a few days. It is looking like we will be able to take our whole team in for a month! That is a miracle!

This next item is difficult for me, but I must share it. I have made it a point to not ask for money in these updates. But prayer, I can ask for that! Would you please pray and ask our Father to move on those whom He would have to support this ministry financially? We need about $4,000 on August 1st.

We so appreciate your faithful prayers on our behalf. You are a huge part of our ministry!

The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. . The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace!
