Lykins' Update: August 23rd, 2008
Dear praying friends,
I am sending out this additional update in hopes of stirring up some additional prayer for Carol and I.
We have been a little “under the weather” this past week, she with a urinary tract infection, and I with a cold. As I lay in bed in the wee hours pondering our condition it occurred to me that we were under attack from the enemy of our souls. We have accepted a position of leadership of this outreach, and therefore the animosity of additional “forces of darkness.”
I would like to ask for increased pray for us – especially for these next two months on outreach to Thailand and Myanmar (Burma.) In addition to “brushing your teeth*,” remember us as you fall asleep, or invite the Father to wake you in the night to bring our requests before Him. Thank you!
Specifically we ask:
That we would have our eyes opened to the battle around us.
That we would be careful to act in the strength of the Holy Spirit, and not in our own.
That we would “see what the Father is doing”, and come along side.
That we would walk in Humility.
That we would boldly proclaim Christ’s love and provision for men, His Kingdom come!
That during October while Carol is in Myanmar leading half the team and I in Thailand with the other half, the she would know the Father’s provision for her.
Finally, that His will would be accomplished, and that we would bring Him glory in all that we do and say.
Please feel free to post, and ask your prayer group to lift up our prayer requests.
Thank you so much!
Fred and Carol

*”brush your teeth”
The Father gave me this example as an illustration to share with our “busy” friends.
Because people are busy, and may already have a long prayer list,
As you brush your upper teeth, pray for our relationship with the Father.
As you brush your lower set, pray for our relationships with others.
As you rinse your mouth and tongue, pray that the words we speak would be “sweet” to the hearer, and bring Glory to God!
Thank you,
“Brush your teeth!”
