WeLykins Update – September 28th 2009

Dear praying friends,

Tonight our team will be performing our creation drama in a citywide prayer service. It will also be televised, so we need to do our very best. We were invited to do this by the One Mexico movement. Pray that the Öne Mexico¨ movement would grow into a nation wide revival.

We are visiting a nursing home several times weekly. One woman, Aurora, has had such horrible bed sores that she has had to have dead tissue removed, (the local church requested one of it´s members who is a doctor to help out!) and has craters the size of a tennis ball on her legs. Our women are changing her bandages daily, and bringing healing. Many folks just enjoy the attention and songs, hugs, shaves, checkers, etc.
Pray too for Feliciano. He is a well traveled evangelist there who has written off his fellow residents, (Their minds are gone) We are conviced that he is not finished with these people, and Feliciano knows the word, He knows the Spirit, but doesn´t seem to have God´s love for his roommates.

Thursday evenings at the drug rehab center we’re invovled in Gospel mission style evangelism. One young man, Joseph, 20, lived in Turlock, CA for six years, so speaks English well. He was filled with the Spirit on our first visit, and has been instrumental in ministering to his housemates since. We prayed for another man, Louis, who under Joseph´s hand also fell under the power of the Spirit and spoke in tongues. Its wonderful to see God move through this new believer!

Monica Hale is staff at YWAM Salem, her mother teaches an English class here at the University. She has invited us to come and make friends with her students, 18 year olds, teaching them praise songs in English, and loving on them. We´ve met twice so far. The students have been very receptive to us.

We´ve met with two youth groups, sharing testimonies, and ministering in prayer for hidden sins.

Next week we will have an overnight visit in a Ouichole village 4 hours from here.

God is good! We have had some iron sharpening iron, but no one is holding any grudges. :o )

A little more than four weeks, and I´ll get to see my wife again!

Thanks for your prayers!
Fred
